New Developer in TSS
08-11-2024

We are excited to welcome Pedro Campos to the Telescope family! Originally from Brazil, Pedro describes Brazilians as very happy people with a distinct sense of humor, often finding joy and laughter even in chaotic circumstances. This unique outlook on life is something he carries with him, adding a special touch to our multicultural environment.

Pedro has recently settled in Gothenburg, Sweden’s second-largest city. Despite its size, Gothenburg offers a charming and cozy vibe contrasted with the infrastructure of a big city. Pedro loves how the city’s warm community feel makes it easy to call it home.

What he enjoys most about Sweden so far are the outdoor activities. Pedro appreciates how the community is deeply integrated with the environment and takes excellent care of it. Being in contact with nature has become one of his new hobbies, and he feels comfortable and safe exploring the city’s parks and natural landscapes.

Coming from a culture where work often comes first, Pedro found adapting to Sweden’s emphasis on work-life balance to be a significant change—but a welcome one. He’s not used to having so much time for himself and is embracing this new rhythm where work blends seamlessly with his personal life.

At Volvo, Pedro works as a CI Developer. He is part of the team responsible for providing the required infrastructure for the various verification steps the software undergoes before it’s deployed to cars in the market. His expertise lies in cloud/serverless event-driven architectures, designing infrastructure, and implementing processes and good practices for scalability.

He admires his Swedish colleagues for their friendliness and welcoming nature from the beginning. Pedro appreciates their cautious approach where every decision is made unanimously—no move is made unless the entire team is on board. This collective mindset fosters a collaborative and inclusive work environment.

His professional goal is to keep learning and staying up-to-date with the best practices in the industry to help companies make better decisions and deliver their products efficiently. Telescope plays an important role in this process by encouraging and supporting their consultants’ learning and certifications.

According to Pedro, the support from Telescope “could not be better.” From the first contact, he felt looked after. In the weeks leading up to his move, he had multiple meetings to ensure everything was in order and to address any concerns. From day one in Sweden, someone was there to help with everything—not only work-related but even simple tasks like grocery shopping and helping with the language.

Pedro encourages other engineers considering a move to Sweden: “If you are looking for a good work-life balance, escaping from the rush culture that we live in, do not hesitate.”

Welcome, Pedro! Here’s to new horizons and shared successes ahead!
