Spring has arrived and Summer is close on its heels. During these days, when nature renews itself, the hardworking professional software engineers at Telescope also needed a measure of rejuvenation. And what better place to relax and rejuvenate than the lively, picturesque city of Lisbon, Portugal? As a thank-you to Telescope’s international professional staff, the company sponsored a “rest and relaxation” trip to Lisbon (Lisboa), recently listed among the world’s top ten cities.

Approximately 40 Telescope consultants, together with Telescope managers, enjoyed a lively sojourn in Lisbon from May 17 through May 19. Lisbon is beautifully situated on a series of hills near the mouth of the River Tagus and features a wealth of historic monuments, world-class museums, and, just as importantly, wonderful restaurants and homegrown wine.

Visiting members of the Telescope family took full advantage of the opportunity to avail themselves of the delights of the narrow streets of the old quarter, visiting St. George’s Castle, Mosteiro dos Jerónimos, Sé Cathedral and museums richly laden with for exhibitions art masterpieces. Visiting the romantic town of Sintra, with its abundance of royal palaces, antique mansions, and a Moorish castle from the 8th century made this weekend trip to Portugal especially memorable.
