We’re excited to announce a new addition to our team, Lais Pessine do Carmo from Brazil, who joined as EPICS Integrator for Telescope supporting our client, ESS in Lund.
Lais spent her childhood in Jundiaí, Brazil. She was an inquisitive and bright child, but she found herself struggling with math at school. She managed to overcome this challenge and fall in love with math and science thanks to her female teachers, who represented strong role models and made her realize that she could become a successful woman in the field of science.
Lais chose a career in computer engineering as it allowed her to integrate her love of science, arts, and humanities. She possesses one of the rarest skills in the world – software development based on the EPICS framework (Experimental Physics and Industrial Control System).
A wish to pursue personal and professional development was her greatest motivation for relocation to Sweden together with her husband. She moved to the picturesque town Lund where she enjoys visiting museums, cultural events, spending time in charming parks and gardens, and riding her bicycle.
In her free time, Lais enjoys playing PC and board games, drawing, as well as reading fiction and books on how things work.
Welcome to Sweden, Lais!
